Theodore Elwood Dougherty, 78, Spotswood, passed away Saturday, December 2, at University Hospital of Princeton at Plainsboro, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Spotswood, NJ and was a lifelong resident. Theodore graduated from New Brunswick Vo-Tech.
He retired after 37 years working at Schweitzer's paper mill, following retirement he began the recycling program at the Spotswood Borough Yard. Theodore was a lifelong member who faithfully served the Spotswood Fire Department for 30 years from 1960 to 1990 reaching the rank of Engineer.
Theodore is predeceased by his parents, his older brother Robert Dougherty and his younger brother Merritt Dougherty.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory three daughters, Lori Vreeland, Karen Kornacki, Diane Barnes, sister Linda Dougherty-Crockett, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. His ex-wife Karen DeFlaminis and other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday December 20 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm at the Spotswood Fire House, 495 Main Street, Spotswood, NJ.
