Richard (Dick) L. Stebbins, 86, West Windsor Township, passed away on August 15, 2019 at Capital Health Hospital, Hopewell, NJ.
Born in Silver Creek, NY, he graduated from Silver Creek High School and Erie County Technical School with a degree in Building Construction. He then served in the US Army, stationed at Ft. Dix, NJ from 1953-55. Dick then completed an apprentice program with LC Bowers of Princeton and worked as a Union Carpenter, Local #31 and retired in 1997 from S.T. Peterson as a superintendent.
Rich enjoyed gardening and watching the NY Yankees. His community volunteer work included over 50 years for the West Windsor Volunteer Fire Company, Dutch Neck, NJ where he is a lifetime member. He also volunteered as a coach for Pop Warner football; 4-H Woodworking leader and more recently at the West Windsor Senior Center and Buildings/Grounds committee of Slackwood Presbyterian Church.
Richard was predeceased by his parents Charles & Marie (Nordblum) Stebbins and brothers William, Theodore and Donald.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Marilyn (Mason); daughter, Shelley, of Hackettstown, NJ; son Scott and wife Melanie of Yardley, PA and grandchildren Conrad, Colby, Hannah and Julia and sister-in-law Arlene Filson of Mercerville, NJ and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Slackwood Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Noon.
