Jean R. (DeBlasio) Kane, 87, of Pennington, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 4, 2019 in the presence of her family. Jean was raised in West Trenton and lived in Hopewell before retiring to Arrowsic, Maine. Since 2016 she has been a resident of Pennington.
Jean enjoyed a long and varied career that began at Stroukoff Aircraft, and continued at Educational Testing Service, Argus International and Merrill Lynch. After retiring, Jean volunteered for the Maine Attorney General's office mediating consumer complaints. She was the department's longest serving volunteer. While in Maine, Jean served on her town's planning board and was registrar of elections. In addition to her many volunteer activities, Jean loved cooking, and sewing and needlepoint.
Daughter of the late Angelo and Anna DeBlasio of Abruzzo, Italy, and West Trenton, Jean is predeceased by her husband Joseph A. Kane and her daughter Jeanette Kane Sadlon. She is survived by her sons Joseph Kane of Morristown and Michael M. Kane of Hopewell, her son-in-law José H. Muzaurieta of Key Biscayne, Fla., and many nieces and nephews whom she held dear.
A memorial service celebrating Jean's life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, in St. Matthew's Church, 300 S Main St., Pennington, NJ 08534. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association.
